FULL SEASON

JAN | FEBRUARY | MAR | APR | MAY

At this time of year, due to the constant rains and the water received from the tributary rivers, the rivers have large volumes of water well above their level, making it the ideal time to fish giant leather catfish such as Pirarara, Piraíba, Jaú, Cachara, Caparari, the sport fish Apapás, Corvina, among other species.

FOR LEATHER FISH (PIRARARA, PIRAÍBA, JAÚ)

MIDDLE RIVER PERIOD

At this time of year, the rivers drain their large volumes of water received in the previous period returning to their normal level, which makes the period favourable for all species of fish, including giant catfish such as CACHARA, CAPARARÍ, JUNDIÁ, COROATÁ, BARBADO, PALMITO, etc.

RIVER LOW FLOOD PERIOD

Aug / Sep / Oct.

At this time of year, the rivers are full. Their water volumes are higher. Low tides provide the ideal period for fishing for sport fish such as Tucunaré, Bicuda, Cachorra, Matrinchã, Jatuarana, and Aruanã, among other species.

Fishing with Fly

Equipment and Lures (Flies):

Rods – Between 8wt and 10wt with reels compatible with the rods
Rods – 8wt for streamers with intermediate line
Rods – 9wt or 10wt Floating line for large poppers or other surface lures, as they have a little more volume it would be a little easier to cast with this equipment.
Leader – Monofilament between 70lb / 90lb with sizes between 7 feet and 9 feet for surface flies.
Leader – Fluorocarbon between 40lb / 60lb with sizes between 9 feet and 12 feet for streamers with intermediate lines.

Live bait

We recommend minhocuçú, rápido (June to October) and tuvira for fish such as: cachara, caparari, matrinchã, jatuarana, pirapitinga, cachorra, barbado, palmito, coroatá, and others. We recommend an average of 1 kg of minhocuçú to fish during the entire period of 4.5 or 5.5 days and 30 units of tuvira/fasting daily/boat.

In addition, it is important to use personal protective equipment, such as:
